Description
By X-ray diffraction and differential-thermal analysis methods it is stated that it is possible to obtain Ln2SnS4 thiostannites (where Ln is La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Cd) by means of Ln2S3 and SnS sintering in 1:1 ratio in evacuated quartz ampoules at 600 deg C. Obtained compounds are oxidized at heating in air up to 600-660 deg C, and are disproportionized in rare earth and tin thiostannites and sulphides when heated in vacuum up to 780-870 deg C
