Description
The swinging of quasipotential waves with unlimited, cold and magnetized plasma by finite thickness electron beam is investigated within the framework of linear instability theory. It is shown that the effect of the beam limitedness on its instability is determined by two factors: one of them is the transverse wave number quantization leading to the excited frequency spectrum cutting, the other is radiative losses which may lead to resistive type instability excitation. Spectral dependences of increments are investigated for typical parameters of active experiments in space
