The book focusses on the classical radiological techniques and does not consider special methods, but sometimes refers to preventive X-ray application. The chapters dealing with gynaecology and obstetrics also cover the diagnostic potentials of ultrasonic techniques. Only American original publications have been taken as a source for this compilation. The sections devoted to the oropharynx, the larynx and the hypopharynx, in addition to findings obtained by double contrast techniques also include a discussion of CT findings, putting emphasis on results obtained by imaging the cross-sectional anatomy. This systematic representation of the normal anatomy, and of the anatomic variants shown, also enhances the value of information given on the esophagus, the stomach, the duodenum, and the pancreas.
