Keratotic precancerous and cancerous changes observed in x-ray technicians
- 1. Nihon Univ., Tokyo. School of Medicine
Description
Two cases of patients with occupational chronic radiation dermatitis, a pharmacist and a bone setter who had been engaged in such radiological occupation for a long time were studied and discussed with reference to the comparison between clinical and histological findings of keratotic, precancerous, and cancerous changes. In Case 1, erythematous lesion in the opisthen showed the pathological findings similar to Bowen's disease, and the lesion in the face showed the findings similar to keratosis senilis. Treatment with 5-FU ODT was effective in this case. Case 2 was extremely rare case in which carcinoma spinocellulare and epitherial tumor of the basal cells combined in the irradiated region.
