The application of irradiation and nuclear heat at the Tsinghua Experimental Reactor

  • 1. Tsinghua Univ., Beijing (China). Inst. of Nuclear Energy Technology

Description

The Tsinghua Experimental Reactor is a light-water-cooled and morderated pool type reactor. There are two cores in a pool with capacity of 0.2 MW and 2.8 MW respectively. Varied irradiation application has been carried out, such as shielding experiment, biological irradiation effect, NTD silicon, and fast neutron irradiation of semiconductor devices etc. The neutron radiography and neutron activation analysis have been used for many fields. The experiment using the Tsinghua Experimental Reactor for heating buildings was performed. The experiment results indicated the low-temperature nuclear heating system (LTNHS) is feasible and safe.
