Alteration of reactor installation (alteration of No.1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 reactor facilities) in Fukushima No.1 Nuclear Power Station, Tokyo Electric Power Co., Inc
Description
The Nuclear Safety Commission reported to the Minister of International Trade and Industry about this alteration, on which the instruction to the Committee on Examination of Nuclear Reactor Safety had been made on April 16, 1987, its correction was made on July 23, 1987, and the report from the Committee was received on July 24, 1987, after the deliberation. As the result of examination, it was recognized that the technical capability of the applicant is adequate. As the results of investigation and deliberation, it was judged that the safety after this alteration of reactor installation can be ensured. The main items of the investigation and deliberation were as follows: the mechanical design and nuclear design of the new control rods used for No.1 - No.5 plants, the volume reduction treatment facilities for miscellaneous solid wasted, which are used in common for No.1 - No.6 plants, and the building, and the evaluation of the exposure dose of general public in the surroundings of the reactor facilities.
