Description

Development is a long process which aims to create good change, n but there is also side effect emerge in between, and environmental crisis, being one of the downsides, has become the main obstacle in our path toward better future. Dealing with the challenge to achieve sustainable development requires social, political, environmental and economic transformation whilst the importance of sustainable transition became apparent. The study focuses on renewable energy and takes Taiwan offshore wind farm plan as an example while the field research being conducted in Miaoli Nanlong where 's coastal fishing area is the site of the country first wind farm. The concept will be framed by the idea of sustainability to explore the question that Cn offshore wind farms in Taiwain be sustainable?with dimensions of environment, society, and economy. The research will start with the discussion of fishing livelihood changing before and after the wind farm project, from the perspective of income and daily life. Then take a closer look at the process of negotiation to investigate the role of participation and power relations play in. Finally, review the outcome of the implementation to reflect on the possibility of sustainability. (author)
