Effects of dibaryon resonances in the reaction γd→π0d

Description
The process γd→π0d is investigated in a model that takes into account contributions of the impulse approximation and of dibaryon resonances with J/sup P/ = 0+, 2+, and 3-. The parameters of the resonance contributions are found by fitting the experimental differential cross sections. The most significant dibaryon effects are possible in the large-momentum-transfer cross sections. The asymmetry of the angular distribution of the π0 mesons, which is due to the linear polarization of the γ rays, is very sensitive to the contribution of the dibaryon resonances. Taking the resonances into account reduces the absolute value of the asymmetry calculated in the impulse approximation
