Distribution of isotopes of carbon and oxygen in the Mesozoic meta-carbonates of South Veporicum of Western Carpathians

Description
Aim of this paper is to characterize isotopic composition and extent of distribution of carbon and oxygen in meta-carbonates of federate group of the South Veporicum. Distribution of stable isotopes of carbon and oxygen was investigated in meta-carbonates from selected areas of packing Mesozoic of South Veporicum of Western Carpathians. Based on the presented results of isotopic composition, formation of carbonates in marine environment was confirmed. δ13C values of marine sedimentary carbonates are homogeneous, ranging from -1 to +3 per mille. The resulting values indicate changes in the isotopic composition of carbonates during metamorphic recrystallization.
