- 1. Xi'an Jiaotong Univ., Xi'an (China). Second Hospital, Dept. of Endocrinology
Description
Objective: To study the relations between diabetic microangiopathy and endothelin (ET) and von Willebrand factor (vWF) in diabetes mellitus. Methods: The plasma concentrations of ET and vWF were measured in 12 normal persons and 49 diabetic patients by radioimmunoassay (RIA) and enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Results: The plasma concentrations of ET and vWF in diabetic patients were higher than those of normal group. The alteration were notable especially in the patients complicated with microangiopathy. Conclusions: The increased level of ET and vWF was related to the development of diabetic microangiopathy
