Description
In case of fusion of heavy nuclei the single barrier description of the reaction evolves into a multiple barrier representation due to coupling of relative motion of the interacting nuclei with their internal degrees of freedom. The fusion cross-sections for 16O + 142Nd in the energy range 60 - 80 MeV in steps of 1 MeV using the HIRA facility at Nuclear Science Centre, New Delhi have been measured
