Proposal of a logical formalism for the expression and the verification of temporal properties on repetitive events aimed at execution trace analysis
Description
To provide safety analysis of complex real time systems which have been developed for the protection of French nuclear Plants, the French research center of nuclear area namely the Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique (CEA) is interested in software testing validation techniques. These series of tests are made by a purely software simulation of the system. The purpose is to establish the truth of some critical properties of the program either at the simulation run time or after its execution. The operator is able to describe the variation of some inputs parameters of the program and shows the results with graphics facilities. An important need was to describe formally some categories of properties expressed in terms of academic examples. We thought that a logical textual language was appropriate to achieve this formal expression. This thesis describes a new Data flow language called EFRI extending the semantic of interval temporal logics. Then we describe a calculus using regular languages on arrays which associates to each formula of the EFRI language can be viewed as a classical problem of languages theory: does a word belongs to a regular language? We can then build a finite automata to recognize complex temporal diagrams. (author)

Dans le domaine de l'analyse de surete des systemes programmes, intervenant dans la protection des centrales nucleaires reparties sur le territoire francais, le Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique (CEA) s'interesse aux methodes de validations par tests, appliquees aux composants logiciels de ces systemes. Ces tests sont effectues par des simulations logicielles selon des scenarios pre-etablis concus par des specialistes. L'equipe de validation souhaite alors verifier que certaines proprietes cruciales ont toujours ete respectees. Ces verifications peuvent avoir lieu pendant ou apres l'execution simulee du logiciel. Ces simulations evenementielles portent sur des applications temps reel de type flots de donnees (Dataflow). Un important travail de formalisation etait necessaire pour decrire dans un langage textuel suffisament lisible, expressif et exploitable, pour tout ou partie des categories de proprietes informellement exprimees par les valideurs sur des exemples modeles. Les proprietes suggerees font intervenir des aspects temporels, des questions d'ordonnancement d'evenements repetitifs et des intervalles de temps. Cette these se propose de definir le langage EFRI. Il est oriente flots de donnees et generalise, du point de vue semantique, les formalismes bases sur les logiques temporelles d'intervalles. Nous decrivons un procede semblable a une compilation, rendant plus efficace l'evaluation des formules de notre langage. Base sur un formalisme de type expressions rationnelles vectorielles, notre procede de compilation ramene la verification d'une propriete, exprimee par une formule du langage logique EFRI, au probleme de l'appartenance d'un mot a un langage rationnel, mecaniquement construit a partir de cette formule.
