A new method of restoration

Description
Restoration is a process that is used by radio astronomers to eliminate the smoothing effect observed in radio maps that is caused by the finite width of the telescope's beam. (Formally, this is the problem of inverting a Fredholm equation.) A new method of restoration, which is equivalent to Bracewell's method of successive substitution (the summing of a Neumann series), is developed whose convergence rate is shown to be exponentially faster.
