Temperature dependence of superround velocity and related volumetric dependence of the Young modulus of some metals
Description
Results are given of measuring the temperature dependence of the supersound velocity in liquid Cd, Ga, In, Tl, Sn Pb and Bi in the Tsub(melt) to 1000 K temperature range and in solid polycrystal In, Sn and Pb. The data are used for calculation of the temperature dependence of the poisson ratio and isothermal Young modulus. It was concluded on the base of measurement results and linerature data that the ln Msub(T) dependences on volume expansion of solid metals and their melts, reduced to 0 K intersect in the solidification point. Tangents of inclination angle of the corresponding lines are equal only for metals with a large atomic volume
