An analysis of control rod reactivity worth and prompt neutron decay constant of the SHE-8 critical assembly

Description
Reactivity worth of experimental control rod and prompt neutron decay constant at critical state were analyzed for the graphite-moderated Semi-Homogeneous Critical Experimental Assembly SHE-8 with enriched uranium fuel. Alpha-eigenvalues of the assembly were evaluated by 18group S6P0 calculation with two-dimensional transport code TWOTRAN-2, and neutron spectrum were calculated with HTGR lattice burn-up code DELIGHT-5. Calculated results of control rod reactivity worth and prompt neutron decay constant agreed with the experimental data within the accuracy of 5%. And appropriateness of the calculational codes, nuclear data and analytical methods is verified by this analysis. (author)
