The hollow beam concept for producing intense beams

Creators

Description

In this paper the main building blocks of the hollow beam concept are described, as well as how they fit together to form a system. The advantages of the hollow beam geometry in high current ion sources, transport, focusing and acceleration are discussed. In particular, a new form of a continuous focusing linear accelerator is described. (orig./HSI)
