Chemical and mechanical interaction in the oxide fuel rod

Description
A survey is presented of chemical and mechanical interactions between mixed oxide fuel and can material, whereby the problems of fuel rod behaviour under load changes are dealt with in more detail. It is found that in all cases of cladding tube cracking internal corrosion plays a role. (HR)
Abstract (German)
Es wird ein Ueberblick ueber die chemischen und mechanischen Wechselwirkungen zwischen Mischoxidbrennstoff und Huellwerkstoff gegeben, wobei auf die Problematik des Brennstabverhaltens unter Lastwechsel besonders eingegangen wird. Es wird festgestellt, dass in allen beobachteten Faellen einer Huellrohrrissbildung der chemische Angriff von innen eine Rolle spielt. (HR)Additional details
