Description
A number of 10 m long dipole prototypes for the LHC is being manufactured by European industries, under CERN technical responsibility. This paper resumes the main developments of the design as well as the retained technological solutions for the fabrication of the first 10 m long dipole prototype, manufactured by the Italian firm Ansaldo in the frame of the LHC magnets R and D program
