Intra-Stark spectroscopy of Coulomb emitters in a plasma with quasi-monochromatic electric field

Description

The hydrogen atom spectrum in the electric field of E(t)=ED(t)+F type, where one-dimensional ED(t)=E0 cos (ωt+φ) field can be a field of regular plasma oscillations (e.g. Langmuir) or a field of coherent electromagnetic radiation interacting with plasma, and F is the quasistatic field caused by low-frequency electrostatic plasma oscillations and (or) by a ion microfield, has been analytically investigated. Mutual orientation of ED(t) and F vectors is suggested to be arbitrary. In case when splitting of upper and lower atomic levels of the average-in-time field coincide with qω (q=1, 2, 3...), the resonance effect leading to additional splitting of a spectral line (SL) occurs. Frequencies of SL additional resonance splitting have been found for the arbitrary hydrogen SL. Characteristics caused by the effect of q-quantum resonance have been analysed with the help of the resulting SL profile (averaged by F field distribution). Methodical recommendations on using such characteristics for measurements of ED(t) field parameters in plasma media have been presented
