Two-dimensional fall back flow and core cooling in the slab core test facility (SCTF)

Description
Two-dimensional core cooling distribution by fall back water under reflood condition was examined by conducting upper plenum water injection tests with the Slab Core Test Facility which is a radial cut of a PWR core. The fall back flow distribution under CCFL condition was found to be dominated by the upper plenum water head distribution. Cross flow of the fall back water contributed cooling of remote bundles.
