Effect of some zeolitic materials on the R7T7 nuclear waste glass alteration
- 1. Poitiers Univ., 86 (France). Laboratoire Materiaux et Geologie Environnementale, UMR CNRS 6532
Description
In order to test eventual backfill materials on an underground storage, alteration tests of R717 nuclear waste glass have been conducted in water at 90 deg C with natural and phosphorus zeolites. Zeolitic media lead to stabilisation of concentrations quicker than in pure water, though at a superior level. Moreover, the entry of solution of caesium is lower in media with zeolite than in reference medium. (authors)
