Investigation of Shock-Reflection Phenomena in over expanded Supersonic Jets

  • 1. National Engineering and Scientific Commission, Islamabad (Pakistan)

Description

In order to validate our CFD Code PAK-3D, a study was made using PAK-3D. The study was to investigate Shock-Reflection Phenomena in over expanded Supersonic jets. In viscid computations were performed by Euler equations and transition from regular to Mach reflection and back was observed The results shows a hysteresis phenomenon as jet/ambient pressure ratio decreases and increases and the shock transition angle changes.
