Discrepancies and comments regarding 235U and 239Pu thermal fission yields and the use of 148Nd as a burnup monitor
Description
New 235U and 239Pu thermal fission yield values are reported for the isotopes of Kr, Rb, Xe, Cs, and Ba relative to Nd. Differences from previously reported data are large, especially for Xe and Ba isotopes for 239Pu fission. The impact of a large 147Nd capture cross section on 148Nd yield measurements and the use of 148Nd as a burnup monitor are discussed
