Welding of high-strength CrNiMoV steel of large thickness for use in nuclear power engineering

Description

The results are reported of a study into the welding of the high-strength low alloyed CrNiMoV steel 0.18% C, 120 mm thick, suitable for work up to 525 degC. The welding technology is recommended including the use of pre-heating, simultaneous heating, interpass temperature and immediate after-heating. The favourable effect is justified of the immediate after-heating at 300 degC for reducing the diffusion hydrogen level in the welded joint. (author)
