Description

Peculiarities of PdSc optical properties where scandium d-subzone is closely located to palladium d-subzone in PdIn are studied. Refraction and absorption indexes of PdSC intermetallic compounds in the spectral range h/2π ω=0.069-5.0 eV (lambda = 18-0.25 μm) and Pd50Sc40In10 in the range h/2πω=0.31-5.0 eV (lambda=4-0.25 μm) using the polarimetric method as well as reflectivity in the 5-10 eV range are determined. The frequency dispersion of optical conductivity, the imaginary part of dielectric permittivity in the mentioned range is calculated according to the Kramers-Kronig ratio. The analysis of the results obtained has revealed that palladium D-subzone location is deeper as compared with PdIn. Increased intensity of optical absorption in PdSc results from high density of occupied and free states of the zonic spectrum
