Description
Interaction of yttrium triiodide with sodium, potassium and rubidium iodides in solution was studied by the methods of differential thermal, X-ray phase and crystal-optical analyses. The system YI3-NaI is of eutectic type, compound of the composition 7NaI · 3YI3 is formed, decomposing in solid phase at 410 degC. When yttrium triiodied interacts with potassium iodide and rubidium iodide compounds of the composition 3MI · YI3 are formed, congruently melting at 605 and 630 degC respectively. In the system YI3-RbI compounds of composition RbI · YI3 are present, which decompose in solid phase at 360 degC
