Detonation of hydrogen-air mixtures: Chapter 16

  • 1. Shock Wave Physics Research Group, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, McGill Univ., Montreal H3A 2K6

Description

The detonation of a hydrogen-air cloud subsequent to an accidental release of hydrogen into ambient surroundings cannot be totally ruled out in view of the relative sensitivity of the hydrogen-air system. The present paper investigates the key parameters involved in hydrogen-air detonations and attempts to establish quantitative correlations between those that have important practical implications
