Assessment of precursor GPTMS concentration, as galvanized steel pretreatment used in the automotive sector

Description

Several studies describe the good performance of the coatings based silanes as pretreatment of galvanized steel, so the aims of this work was evaluate the influence of the concentration of GPTMS alkoxide precursor on the characteristics of the formed film, on the galvanized steel. For such, the samples were coated with the film and evaluated as their morphological, structural and electrochemical characteristics. It was observed which in all tests, higher precursor concentrations resulted in better results compared samples formed with lower availability of GPTMS in solution. (author)
