The effect of substructure on creep properties of Mo-5W alloy

Description
The effect of the thermomechanical treatment (TMT) of swaging and intermediate recrystallization on the creep resistance of Mo-5 wt%W has been investigated. It was found that TMT improves the creep resistance of the alloy in the temperature range 1100-14000C. The creep rate is controlled by a structural parameter, the effective subgrain size, which depends on the measured subgrain size and the misorientation angle between the subgrains. (author)
