Description
Examination speed of helical scanning CT is faster than that of the conventional table sliding rapid sequence method, so it enable to scan the whole pancreas with single-breath-hold technique, and sufficient enhancement is obtained with bolus injection of contrast medium. To detect small pancreatic carcinoma requires the whole pancreas to be scanned by within the arterial phase. Because pancreatic carcinoma without necrosis shows a little difference of CT value compared with the normal pancreatic tissue in late enhanced phase and plain CT. Therefore bolus injecting helical CT is very useful in detection of the small pancreatic carcinoma. (author)
