Calculation of wave diffraction on reservoirs of hydroelectric and nuclear power stations

Wave diffraction is an essential factor when determining the wave regime on protected water areas. On reservoirs of nuclear and hydroelectric power stations the role of moles (breakwaters) is performed by guide banks. At present, a number of theoretical solutions and methods of calculating wave diffraction on water areas protected by single or convergent moles are known. However, in such frequently encountered cases of the layout of water areas as protection by offset or overlapping moles, when the projection of the width of the inlet b less than or equal to O and secondary deformation occurs, the standard method cannot be used. Thus, it is necessary to develop a method to calculate wave diffraction free as far as possible of the shortcomings of the standard method. In this paper the author proposes a solution of the problem of wave diffraction on water areas which is obtained from the Helmholtz equation
