Duality and large N limit in non-abelian gauge theories
Description
It is shown that pure Yang-Mills theory is self-dual when N -> infinite provided g2N=finite. We suggest a solution to the self-duality equation which exhibits an electric-magnetic duality. The case theta not= 0 is treated and it is pointed out that tunneling is suppressed in this limit. theta dependence of the theory is an effect of the order 1/N due to the contributions of configurations with twisted boundary conditions.
