In the present work, the possibility of colour changeable optode for uranium detection in groundwater using 2-(5-bromo-2pyridylazo)-5-diethylaminophenol(Br-PADAP) has been explored. The choice for Br-PADAP was based on the fact that it has been used for developing a uranium specific spectrophotometric determination method in the presence of a large excess of thorium
