Radiation-induced nitration of phenol in aqueous solutions

Description
Photometric spectra of initial and irradiated solutions demonstrate that ionizing radiation effect on phenol nitrate aqueous solutions leads to the formation of nitro compounds. Total radiation chemical yield of the 2- and 4-nitro phenols formation involves 1.8 molecules/100 eV. Radiation nitration of organic compounds is important for safe liquid radioactive waste management
