Device for continuous separation of particles from a liquid and for inserting the particles into a second liquid
Description
A device is proposed allowing spherical heavy metal particles - especially such of radioactive material, as they are formed when reprocessing fuel elements for nuclear reactors - to be continuously and very carefully separated from a liquid and inserted into a second liquid without these two liquids getting into contact. The liquid containing the particles is fed to a sieve, desiqued as a drum or an endless belt system, retaining the particles on its surface, while the liquid is flowing off through a collecting cone. Moving on, the particles are stripped off the sieve by a second liquid arranged below the drum. The device is of simple design and allows an almost maintenance-free operation so that it is also suited for hot cells. (GSC)

Es wird eine Vorrichtung vorgeschlagen, die es erlaubt, kugelfoermige Schwermetallpartikel - insbesondere aus radioaktivem Material, wie sie bei der Aufarbeitung von Brennelementen fuer Kernreaktoren gebildet werden - kontinuierlich sehr schonend aus einer Fluessigkeit abzutrennen und in eine zweite Fluessigkeit einzubringen, ohne dass beide in Beruehrung kommen. Die die Partikel enthaltende Fluessigkeit wird einem als Trommel oder entloses Band ausgebildeten Sieb zugefuehrt, das die Teilchen auf der Oberflaeche zurueckhaelt, waehrend die Fluessigkeit durch einen Auffangtrichter ablaeuft. Bei der Weiterbewegung werden die Partikel vom Sieb durch eine unterhalb der Trommel angeordnete zweite Fluessigkeit abgeloest. Die Vorrichtung hat einen einfachen Aufbau und erlaubt einen fast wartungsfreien Betrieb, so dass sie auch fuer heisse Zellen geeignet ist. (GSC)
