Preparation and characterization of phosphine-tetraborane(8)
Description
The preparation of B4H8 x PH3 by cleaving pentaborane, B5H11, with PH3 is reported herein. The formation of a reaction intermediate, B5H11 x PH3, which decomposes above -80/degrees/C in dichloromethane, is also reported. The 11B NMR spectrum of B4H8 x PH3 indicates that the compound exists in two isomeric forms, endo and exo forms. 18 references, 3 figures, 1 table
