Thermodynamics of nitrogen solutions in alloyed austenite

Description
Statistical theory of thermodynamical activity of nitrogen, soluted in austenite containing considerable amounts of alloyig transition metals, is proposed. It is not possible to describe this value in the whole range of possible contents with the help of formalism of generalized parameters of interaction because of divergence of the corresponding series in a general case. The application of interaction parameters of the first and second orders does not give satisfactory agreement with experimental value of constant of the Sieverst law for nitrogen in the austenitic phase of the Kh18AN5 stainless steel at 1050 deg C. The calculation of the value considered in correspondence with the formula, obtained in the present paper, agrees much better with the data of experiment
