Small nuclear technology compatibility evaluation methodology for a project application

  • 1. Hatch Ltd., Mississauga, ON (Canada)

Description

Hatch's multi-dimensional technology evaluation methodology has been adapted for the evaluation of small nuclear reactor technologies. It is recommended that at least four aspects of Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technologies are examined for their potential deployment at remote industrial or residential project sites. These four evaluations include economics, technology compatibility with site characteristics, technology readiness and vendor readiness. The details of the technology compatibility evaluation method are described in this paper. (author)
