In vivo proton and 31P NMR measurements in tumours and normal tissues

Description
A new technique for obtaining cross-sectional pictures through the body without exposing it to ionizing radiation is nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) imaging. NMR imaging not only yields anatomical information comparable in many ways with the information obtained by computed tomography (CT) scans but also promises to more sensitively discriminate between healthy and diseased tissue. The full clinical potential of this new modality is currently under investigation. (Auth.)
