Synthesis and ion exchange properties of titanates. 2. Isotherms of Li+, Na+, K+, Ag+, Ca2+, Sr2+, Ba2+ ion exchange on alkali metal titanates

Description

Ion-exchange equilibria on lithium, sodium and potassium titanates prepared directly from the solutions in TiCl4-H2O-MeOH systems (Me=Li, Na, K) are studied. Sorption studies from Li2SO4, NaNO3, KNO3, AgNO3, Ca(NO3)2, Sr(NO3)2, Ba(NO3)2 salt solutions are carried out at constant total equivalent concentration of counterions. Exchange isotherms on titanates are presented. Titanates are stated to exhibit high selectivity relatively to ions of alkaline earth metals and silver. Titanate selectivity relatively to ions of other alkali metals is not observed. The process of ion exchange on titanates is followed by phase transitions
