Mixed oxide fuel: scope, procedures, and schedule for generic environmental impact statement and criteria for interim licensing actions
Description
This notice sets forth the Commission's determination that the subject of wide-scale use of mixed oxide fuel in the light water power reactor fuel cycle requires a full assessment of safeguards issues before the Commission's decision is made; specifies the procedures and schedule to be followed for completion of the environmental impact statement on wide-scale use of mixed oxice fuel and for the conduct of the associated hearings; and sets forth criteria under which certain licensing actions can proceed in the interim prior to the Commission's decision on the wide-scale use of mixed oxide fuel
