Loose water tritium determination in environmental soil samples
Description
A method is presented for determination of loose water tritium (LWT) in environmental soil samples. The procedure includes desorption and condensation of LWT from soil in a vacuum system, sample preparation and liquid scintillation counting. When 120 g soil with a moisture content of 20% was treated, the rate of recovery of LWT is 96.7% with a lower detection limit of 0.70 Bq/kg (3.4 Bq/L)
