News from Q3 2024: connection volumes similar to the last quarter. The connection volume in Q3 2024 was 1.352 GW, up on Q2 2024 (1.013 GW). Compared with the previous quarter, the third quarter was marked by: a slight increase in the 'self-consumption' segment (total or partial), with almost 61,835 installations connected, which represents an absolute record, a slight increase in the domestic installations segment (<36 kW), with 284 MW connected, stability in the medium-roof segment (36 to 100 kW), with 90 MW connected, and a sharp increase in the large-roof segment (100 to 500 kW), with a connected volume of 456 MW, an absolute record, by an increase in the very large roof segment (500 kW to 1 MW), with a connected volume of 25 MW, by a sharp rise in the large installations segment (500 kW and +), with 521 MW connected (excluding RTE data). The share of photovoltaic electricity in gross electricity consumption in France reached a record level of 8.91% in Q3 2024. The backlog on the distribution grid is once again up on the previous quarter (data not available for projects on the transmission grid), and the stock of projects exceeds 25 GW at the end of this third quarter 2024. With the market price of electricity at around Euros 45/MWh, there is a very moderate impact on public charges in all segments. An assessment of calls for tender would be timely to objectivize the success rate of this method of allocating support, and thus compare it with the open market. Approx. 447 GW of new photovoltaic installations would have been connected worldwide in 2023, according to the International Energy Agency (239 GW in 2022). SolarPowerEurope estimates that 447 GW of new PV capacity will be connected in 2023, up 87% on 2022. In 2023, 56% of this development was carried out by China (253 GW), followed by Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific with 15, 13 and 11% respectively. All geographies saw significant growth
