FBR type reactors

Description

Purpose: To efficiently remove after-heat by causing stabilized spontaneous cooling of coolants in the reactor container even upon reactor tripping. Constitution: A communication channel opening to the inside of a high pressure plenum is disposed to the circumferential wall of an entrance nozzle for each of movable reflectors, a valve sheet is formed within the entrance nozzle and a valve body is supported by a support member made of memory alloy within the entrance nozzle. In this way, the valve body is in contact with the valve sheet during normal operation to establish a required small flow channel within the entrance nozzle. If the back flow of the coolants is resulted in the movable reflector upon occurrence of reactor tripping, the support member made of memory alloy is deformed by the coolants at high temperature to aprat the valve body from the valve sheet and enlarge the flow channel in the entrance nozzle.
