The method of gold contents determination in the sample

Description

The method of gold contents determination with high precision in different samples particularly in jewelry goods of different shape and size was elaborated. The method also allows to reveal goods made from other metals and coated with gold. The method include irradiation of samples by gamma-irradiation with energy 120-200 KeV in two projections relatively to the plane radiation source-sample-detector. In spectrum of characteristic x-rays radiation the intensities of L X-rays of gold, K X-rays of silver and the peak of scattered irradiation are measured for each of two projections. These intensities are compared with calibration samples with known contents of gold and silver. (author)
