Description
The property characterizing the beginning of plastic deformation in the flux-line lattice (FLL) of type-II superconductors is the flow stress. The flow stress is determined by the interaction among FLL dislocations and by the interaction between FLL dislocations and crystal defects. Both contributions are calculated by means of the elastic theory of the FLL. The results show that the FLL may be treated approximately as an incompressible fluid. (author)
