SupraTech. Superconductors for energetic applications. Final report

Description

The project goal for 2011 was therefore to develop a largely automated HTS strip conductor coating technology with integrated quality assurance in Germany. To this end, major parts of the existing know-how providers in Germany worked together in a joint project to achieve three main objectives: 1. to develop a highly efficient HTS coating plant technology that overcomes the disadvantages of the existing plants of US manufacturers, 2. to make cost-effective HTS strip available to the market in sufficient quantities in a timely manner in order to promote the use and dissemination of HTS equipment as a clean technology in the energy sector. 3. standardization of product and routine tests for HTS stranded conductors in order to simplify as far as possible the process of proving the assured HTS stranded conductor properties in standardized procedures, e.g. during acceptance tests.
