Sequence of structural distortions in KCdF3, investigated by the ESR method
Description
The authors have investigated the ESR spectrum in the system KCdF3: Cr3+. They show that the paramagnetic impurity ions are locally compensated along the C3 axis. Comparison of the results of symmetry analysis with the splitting pattern in the disymmetrical phases leads them to the conclusion that the first and second high-temperature phase transitions in the KCdF3 crystal are due to condensation of soft modes M3z + R25x and R25y = R25x, respectively
