Fretting wear and protection of steam generator tubes
Description
Anti - vibration spacer bars of secondary side steam generator tubes are subject to frequent fretting wear. Wear sometimes is caused by foreign object in tubes. This paper describes general situation of fretting wear and foreign object wear, fretting wear mechanism, predicting tube fretting wear amount, normal contact force and sliding distance. Additionally, fretting wear tube protection of Westinghouse, Framatome, Siemens-KWU and Babcock and Wilcox Canada is discussed. (author)
