Fuel element support structure
Description
The patent claim pertains to a fuel element support structure which can be used in LWR reactors to take up the fuel elements. It consists of upper and lower end plates, spacer grids, connecting bars and guide tubes and must be very stable. As the groups of elements may be made of highly different materials, their connection presents some difficulties. Axial displacement will be prevented by equipping the connecting bars and guide tubes with welded-on sockets, with projections, of the same material. These sockets are supported on the other structural elements. Some variations of this fastening method are presented. (HP)

Der Vorschlag betrifft ein Brennelementskelett, wie es bei LWR zur Aufnahme der Brennelemente dient. Es besteht aus Kopf- und Fussplatten, Abstandshaltegittern, Verbindungsstaeben und Fuehrungsrohren und muss in sich sehr stabil sein. Da Bauteilgruppen aus unterschiedlichen Materialien bestehen, ergeben sich Schwierigkeiten, diese miteinander zu verbinden. Es wird nun vorgeschlagen, um axiale Verschiebungen auszuschliessen, an den Verbindungsstaeben und Fuehunrgsrohren mit Vorspruengen versehene Huelsen gleichen Materials anzuschweissen, die dann auf den anderen Bauteilen aufsitzen.
